In light of the illegalization of squatting in the Netherlands, the research focuses on alternatives in habitation engaging the issues of vacancy, temporary use and reuse, bottom up hierarchy, public and private realms, and the future of the role of the architect in the context of complex socio economical changes. The related 2011 spring studio is directed by David Eugin Moon in collaboration with Klaas Kresse of sprikk, an architecture and urban planning firm in Rotterdam.
